December 16 in Yangon

At 6am I was let in to my room after waiting in the lobby! I lay down for a sleep and put the alarm on 9am, but I woke up earlier! After a shower I dressed and then out walking to the Indian Embassy! My e-visa to India didn't work out because of wrong dates so I had to apply for a new one! If you come back before 10.30 I will fix it for you, the indian lady said! A young girl showed me the way to an Office where they helped me fill in the form! Back again 10.20 and I had to pay a new fee of 42 USD. I got an appointment Dec 22 at 3pm to collect my passport - that was good!
After this I was excited and needed a breakfast so I went to the luxury Strand Hotel and had an expensive breakfast, coffee and 2 croisonts and a glas fresh orange juice at an European price!!!

Now I could relax and I started a walking tour from Lonely Planet! First sightseeing was the 2000 year old golden temple Sule Paya, now a round about in the city center! Impressive!
Next I looked for a Tea house but I didn't find it. The administrative building for Yangon is also impressive!
And in a park opposit is the independence Monument!
Now it was time for a coffe and I found a chokolate cake to die for!!!
Outside was this Woman and I asked her what the painting was - sun protection ! A lot of women had it!
There are many great Colonial buildings and I walked passing a lot of them! The St Marie cathedral is special - but I was not allowed to take any pics inside!
I toke a photo of a cristmas tree and a father Christmas dolly playing saxophon outside a shopping mall and was told by a guard - no photos allowed??!!
In the evening I tried to find a decent restaurant but those I picked in Lonely Planet I didn't find, so I walked and found one with lots of people and was offered to sit with Kyaw and Win who were on Friday AW! Nice talking to them - they worked in the mining industry!

Now it was time for me to go back for hopefully a nice sleep as Yesterdays bus ride didn't give me so much!
