I've just crossed the friendship bridge to the boarder In Mayanmar! This time it worked! Sitting at a café having an iced coffee! I have also booked a sleeping bus to Yangon at 5pm! This morning I also booked my ongoing trip to Bangalore from Mandelay January 12th!!
The bus Journey went well, though the bus started 1/2 hour late. It was a good bus. A few tourists only. 5.30pm we left Myawaddy and it started getting dark. We stoped several times to pick up more people and the bus was filled up. The first stop for toilet and snacks were around 9pm and we stoped at midnight for the driver to eat! At 2.30am we arrived at Yangon Bus station, located outside town! Me and an american guy shared a taxi to down town (6000 kyat each = 40 SEK OK) and I ended up at my Inn 3.15am. We said its strange, you end up in the middle of the night, a taxi man offers you a ride and you hop in and he takes you on a 45 min drive into town - strange feeling! I rang the door bell at May Fair Inn and after a while a young boy let me in and I could sit in the entrence hall and wait for the morning to come - I'm sitting there now writing this blog!
